How to Post a Tiling Project on WedaHub and Compare Quotes

Step-by-step guide to writing a project description that attracts the right tilers and gets you accurate quotes.

Why your project description matters

Hiring and project posting have moved from TilersHub to WedaHub. WedaHub connects you with verified tilers and contractors who bid on your project directly. The quality of the bids you receive depends almost entirely on the quality of information you provide. A vague description ("need bathroom tiled") will attract vague quotes that are useless for comparison. A detailed description attracts specialists who can give you accurate, itemised quotes — saving you hours of back-and-forth.

Step 1: Choose the right project type

WedaHub covers 30+ service categories. Select the one that best matches your primary need: Bathroom Renovation (if you need full gut and redo), Floor Tiling (new installation or replacement), Waterproofing (membrane application only), or the specific service you need. If your project spans multiple categories — for example, tiling plus plumbing plus electrical — list them in the description and the relevant specialists will reach out.

Step 2: Write a clear description

Include: (1) the floor area in sqft or metres squared; (2) what currently exists (existing tiles, bare cement slab, etc.); (3) what you want done (full renovation, just retile, waterproofing only); (4) your preferred tile format if you have one (30×30, 60×60, 60×120); (5) any special requirements (e.g. step-free shower, specific tile brand); (6) your timeline. Example: "50 sqft bathroom. Existing 1990s tiles to be removed. Full renovation including waterproofing, new floor and wall tiles (60×60 preferred), new toilet and basin. Budget Rs. 700,000. Available from mid-July."

Step 3: Set a realistic budget range

Providing a budget range gets you proportionally better quotes. Tilers and contractors self-filter — those who work above your budget won't apply, and those who specialise in your budget tier will. You don't have to commit to this figure, but leaving it blank often attracts a wider range of prices that are harder to compare. Use TilersHub's cost guide to calibrate expectations before posting.

Step 4: Upload photos if possible

A photo of your existing bathroom is worth a thousand words. It tells the tiler about substrate condition, existing fittings, space constraints, and access difficulty — all of which affect pricing. Even a blurry phone photo is better than none. If you have photos of a style you want to achieve, include those too. Providers who respond to photo-supported projects give significantly more accurate quotes.

Step 5: Comparing bids effectively

Once bids arrive, compare on these dimensions: (1) Is it itemised? (Waterproofing, labour, materials, and finishing should be separate.) (2) Does it include waterproofing — and which system? (3) What is the payment schedule? (Never pay more than 30–40% upfront.) (4) What is the warranty period offered? (5) Has the bidder's listing been verified on WedaHub? Verification confirms the business and its contact details are real — it is a filter, not a guarantee, so still check references before you decide.

Do I need an account to post?

Project posting is now on WedaHub. Open the project form there and follow its current sign-in prompts. Include your area, location, photographs, scope and preferred timeline. TilersHub remains available for guides and cost estimates.

Who can see my phone number?

Registered providers, and only them — it is not shown to anonymous visitors and it is not published on a public page. This is the trade-off that makes the service work: a tiler cannot quote a job without being able to ask you what is actually involved. What it means in practice is that you should treat the description as semi-public. Put the work in it, not your address, your gate code, or when the house is empty. Arrange the site visit over WhatsApp once you have decided who is worth meeting. If you want a project taken down, sign in and close it, or email us and we will remove it.

How many quotes should I expect, and how fast?

It depends heavily on where you are and what the job is. In districts where several providers are active, a clearly written project with a realistic budget usually draws its first response within a day and two or three within a few days. In a district with little coverage it may be slower, or the responses may come from providers in a neighbouring district who travel — which is fine, but factor travel into the price. If nothing arrives after a few days, the usual causes are a description too vague to price, no budget indication at all, or a district we simply do not have depth in yet. Editing the project to add the area in square feet and a budget range is usually enough to restart it.

What happens after I accept a quote?

WedaHub steps out of it at that point — the agreement is between you and the provider, we take no fee and we do not hold your money. What we would suggest you do before work starts: get the quote confirmed in writing rather than a voice note, agree the payment stages (materials advance, a stage payment, and 10–15% held until you have inspected the finished work), and agree how long the provider will come back to fix adhesion or grouting defects. Photograph the waterproofing and the substrate before tiles go down. When the job is done, come back and leave a review — honest reviews from real customers are the only thing that makes a directory like this worth using for the next person.

Quick tips

1

Projects with photos receive 2–3× more bids than text-only posts

2

Respond quickly to bidders — verified tilers have multiple projects competing for their time

3

Ask every bidder: "Will you do the waterproofing yourself, or subcontract it?"

4

A good bid comes with a start date, finish date, and payment schedule
