TilersHub ("we", "us") operates tilershub.lk, a free resource connecting homeowners in Sri Lanka with tilers, contractors, tile shops, brands and suppliers. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information you give us
We only ask for what a job actually needs:
- Posting a project — your name, WhatsApp number, district and city, and the description, budget and photos of the work. No account is required.
- Sending a quote — your name, WhatsApp number, quoted price, timeline and message.
- Registering as a provider — your business name, service type, districts covered, services offered, contact numbers, description and photographs of past work.
- Signing in — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and account identifier from Google. We never see or store your Google password.
- Reviews — the rating, review text and the name you choose to publish it under.
2. Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, device type and browser, collected through Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager.
- Local storage — your chosen language and district are stored in your own browser so the site remembers them. This never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
- Cookies — see section 5.
3. How we use it
- To show your project to providers who work in your area, so they can quote.
- To show provider listings, ratings and reviews to homeowners searching for work.
- To let you sign in and manage your own projects, quotes and listing.
- To review provider applications before they are published.
- To understand which pages and services are useful, and to fix what is not.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam and abuse of the platform.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Who your information is shared with
Posting a project shares your contact details. When you post a project, the name and WhatsApp number you provide are shown to registered providers so they can contact you about it. This is the whole point of the service — but it means you should not include anything in a project description you would not want a tradesperson to read.
Beyond that, we share data only with the service providers that make the site work:
- Supabase — database, file storage and authentication.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
- Google — Analytics, Tag Manager, Sign-in, and advertising (see section 5).
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Cookies and advertising
TilersHub is free to use, for homeowners and providers alike. We cover part of the cost of running it through advertising, served by Google AdSense. We do not place advertising on sign-in, account, project-posting, provider-signup or contact pages.
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use:
- Essential cookies — to keep you signed in. The site cannot work without these.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages are used. Only set if you accept.
- Advertising cookies — set by Google and its partners if advertising is shown on the site. Only set if you accept.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
Personalised advertising means the ads you see may reflect your previous browsing. Turning it off does not remove advertising from the site — it removes the personalisation.
You can turn this off at any time:
- Opt out of personalised advertising by Google at google.com/settings/ads.
- Opt out of other third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices.
- Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Change your choice on this site at any time using the button at the bottom of this page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and stop parts of the site working.
6. Keeping your information
Projects, quotes, reviews and provider listings stay on the site while they are useful to other users. You can ask us to delete your account and the content attached to it at any time by emailing tilershub@gmail.com from the address you signed up with; we action requests within 30 days. Some records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
7. Your choices
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong — provider listings can also be edited yourself from your account.
- Ask us to delete your account and content.
- Withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies.

8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to the database is restricted by row-level security rules so users can only reach their own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send bank details, ID numbers or passwords through project descriptions or quote messages.
9. Children
TilersHub is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email tilershub@gmail.com and we will remove it.
10. Links to other sites
Provider listings, brand pages and guides may link to other websites and to WhatsApp. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — read their policies before sharing anything.
11. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
